Happy Endings
I would like to thanks my Foster mom, Linda, for finding me a home with my new Daddy, Mike. He sure loves me and tells me always. I love to get in the car and ride, and jump in the bed and get lots of attention and pets at night. Daddy makes me sleep in the bed-its too cold and hard on the floor. I get some treats and give my Daddy a paw and a kiss for them. I have a nervous stomach, so I still get burp up a little food 1-2x month, but my Daddy pets me so I don't feel bad. My Daddy says he is so lucky to have me, and wants me to smile always and be happy. Thank you foster Mom Linda for holding me and then finding a great home where I am so loved. My Daddy says I'm the best ever!
Love- Stacey (formerly Casey)

Frankie came into rescue under weight and craving attention. His foster home fixed both of his problems and has found him a forever home with his new parents, Jan and Jim. In his new home, he has two Golden cousins to play with, Paulie and Aspen! Needless to say, Frankie and his family are extremely happy. |
We were initially only interested in being volunteers for GoldHeart in August 2006. We weren't sure if we wanted another dog yet or not. It had been 6 years since our last dog had crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Then GoldHeart asked if we would be interested in fostering Ace! Ace was still very much a puppy at 15 months, but extremely well behaved. As soon as we met him, he had our hearts! He is the most loving, lovable, and easy-going puppy ever! We have since formally adopted him and don't know how we ever did without him before.
Then, in November 2006, right after Thanksgiving, we were asked if we could do an emergency pick up that was close to our home. That's when 9 month old Sadie came into our lives. We had realized by then that you can't only have one Golden! You must have at least TWO!! Sadie was so sweet. By the time we got home with her, we were hooked! Sadie officially joined our family right before Christmas!

When "Pearl" joined our family about a month ago it was an instant fit. A three year old female, she already had almost perfect indoor and outdoor manners. She accepted our visiting adult children with just the right amount of affection and they were very taken with her, too. The first night with us she slept right next to our bed as if she had always lived there. (Even our old, curmudgeon parrot has become smitten with her.)
At first, Pearl was recovering from spaying, kennel cough and an ear infection. As she improved, her energy returned. She loves retrieving (no surprise), long walks and policing the grounds for rabbit trespassers. She is mentally quite sharp and learns new commands and tricks very quickly. She is the dog that we never thought we would be lucky enough to find! We are thankful for the efforts of GoldHeart and feel quite privileged to be able to provide a good home to such a wonderful dog. We have also give her a new name, Skipper. Debbie & Ed

| We adopted from Goldheart in spring of 2003, at the age of 4. Katy had some serious issues with thunderstorm anxiety and a definite Alpha female personality. In the 3+ years that we've had her, she has been a challenge at times. However, she has opened up to us, and shown her true Golden personality and has learned many new things, including how to swim last year, at the age of 6! With a lot of patience and some trial and error of medications, along with good advice from experienced Golden owners, Katy now manages much better when the storms arrive. She is quite a fashionable lady with a collection of stylish collars, along with a variety of tee shirts to wear as her "anxiety wraps" when she hears the storm approaching! Even though it's been tough at times to work with her, we could never let her be with anyone, but our family. She's our girl! |

Abby is happily settling down with her new family in a home tailor-made for Goldens. She is seen here with her new "Mom & Dad", Connie & Dave Fisher, and her new older "Sister", Kayla (Abby is on the right, in front of Dave, and Kayla is on the left, in front of Connie). She came to her new family on July 29, 2006, and has been happy and smiling ever since. She considers Dave her "big play toy" and loves to wrestle and play tug or fetch with him, but also likes some quality time with "Mom" Connie tossing the tennis ball or just hanging out in the kitchen while she bakes some tasty treat. And of course, having big Sister Kayla to keep her company while Mom and Dad are away is a real treat, too! |
| Cheyenne with part of her new family (Mom's taking the picture). Our golden retriever for 10 years that passed away suddenly from cancer and during those years we fell in love with the golden retriever breed. We received Cheyenne at four months of age and fell in love with her funny curious personality and cute looks. Our kids are crazy about her and are enjoying being part of her training and care. Cheyenne is not just another pretty puppy she has also proven herself to be quite a smart puppy in training class. She's been a lot of fun for our family and we have really enjoyed having her. |

This photo is of our two year old and our new Golden Retriever "Atlas" AKA "Sonny". We just love him and have had the best experience with both the rescue and our adoption. Atlas came to us with great house manners and quickly fit into our family. He really didn't have any problems adjusting to our home and family. He's trimmed down since coming us with a change in diet and more exercise. He's gone from hardly being able to run across the backyard to fetch a ball to running so fast he catches the ball! Our children adore him and he adores the children. They are often found all snuggled up together on our bed watching cartoons. Atlas and my husband are bonding taking an obedience class together and now when my husband comes home from work Atlas is so excited he starts shaking, wagging, and whimpering with excitement when his car pulls into the driveway. This is my second adopted golden and we'll never do anything but adopt again. |
| Rocky was supposed to be our foster dog. When I got an e-mail from Goldheart in April 2006, asking if we might be able to foster a young Golden who was in a bad situation, I was heartbroken to see the photos accompanying the e-mail. One look at the pictures, and I couldn’t possibly say "no." It took about 24 hours, at the most, for me to fall in love with this precious little guy. My husband asked me a few times in the next couple weeks, when I was going to do Rocky’s write-up for the Goldheart website, and I would answer vaguely that I’d get around to it, knowing full well that I had no intention of ever writing it! My husband eventually realized that Rocky was my little boy, and was meant to be part of our family of Goldens (4). He is such a joy, with his infectious enthusiasm and zest for life. His perpetual "smile" is contagious, never allowing anyone to be in a bad mood. What a gift he has been! |

Brandy (right) and Sheeba (left). A few weeks before last Christmas we received a call. Gold Heart had recently received a three-year-old female who needed a good home. She had only been in foster care a short time so there were no photos posted to the Web site, however we were told that she was highly energetic. Just a couple of days before Christmas we met Brandy for the first time - It was love at first site. We loved everything about her, her energy, her enthusiasm, her love for people and animals, and her playfulness with our other dog Sheeba. To this day, we believe that God (with the help of Diesel, the dog we lost to a chronic illness) recognized our need for another dog and answered our prayers. On December 24th we completed the adoption, and Brandy became an official member of our family.

| We have had Brandy for nearly a year, and we count our blessings every day. She continues to be a great companion for Sheeba, in fact, watching the two them play together in the back yard brings both of us so much joy! And after they have exhausted themselves in play, they snuggle up with my husband and I. Of course if we are not attentive enough, we get the cold nose under the arm to let us know. |
| Pepper came into our lives on 1/28/06. She has been a wonderful addition to our family. She has a great disposition and gentle nature. Within just a few days she bonded with Max, our 3-year old Golden. We can't even remember what it was like before she came to be with us. We love her and count our blessings everyday that we found her. Thank you, Goldheart, for giving us such a precious gift. |
