Bonnie GH-1025

Bonnie is a beautiful, intelligent, all around fun girl. She is about 5 years old and loves all toys, but can’t figure out exactly how to catch the ball. She is a very submissive girl and gets along wonderfully with the three dogs in her foster home. Cats…hmmm…she is very interested in the household cats and will sit and bark at them for quite a while, yet the cats have kept their distance from her.

Due to mobility challenges, you may recall that earlier some vets thought Bonnie was closer to 9 than 5 years old. However, based on her progress and current Vets, we believe she is closer to the initial age we were told when she came to the USA, and her diagnosis is mild Spondylosis. She has responded well to medications and laser treatments. She should continue laser treatments once every 3 weeks. She also takes Galliprant and Dasuquin daily. She eats the meds right out of your hand. She has also had chronic ear problems in the past and is currently receiving treatment for her right ear.

Bonnie is now 64 lbs. She knows the commands sit and stay. She goes to the back door when she has to go potty, but has had accidents when left for 4 hours or longer. She is not crated at her foster home and is allowed on the furniture. She does great with stairs. Bonnie loves her fenced in yard and her foster mom would prefer she go to a home that also has one. We are not sure if she likes to swim yet, since the home pool does not open for another 2 weeks. She does love going bye-byes in the car and walks very well on a leash.

If you are an approved GoldHeart adopter, and are looking for a spunky, silly fun loving girl… you will love Bonnie! I know we do. If you think Bonnie could be the girl for you, and you can make the commitment to continue laser treatments, medications (will run about $150 per month), and frequent leash walks, please contact her foster mom at sabrenavt@aol.com to learn more. Bonnie is being fostered south of Harrisburg, PA.

Bonnie came in with Clyde (GH-1026) and is an international rescue and made the journey to the USA after initial vetting in Egypt, landing at JFK on the 15th of February with several  other golden GoldHeart rescues.
