Meet Rose Petal aka Rosy Toes! This beautiful smiling girl is just 1-year old and is a Golden Retriever/German Shepherd mix. What a great combo – so smart and so loving!
Rosy is currently living with children and with a senior dog, and is crate trained and reliable in the house (just an accident now and then). She has been left alone for up to 12 hours (not recommended of course). She knows basic commands, does not counter surf, is not allowed on furniture in her home, and we were told that she warms up to new people easily.
She is about 80 pounds and will need to be spayed after coming into GoldHeart. It sounds like her owners love her very much, but advised she is too strong for them to handle and they have decided it would be better for her to go to a home that will have the time to work with her. After all, she is still a puppy and needs some training, attention, and room to run – a fenced yard would be perfect (right now her home has an overhead zip line). Having another playful pup or a home that likes to visit the dog park would be awesome. With some work, no doubt some lucky home will reap the rewards of helping this young girl flourish into the awesome dog we know she will be.
Rose’s intake was through our Foster-to-Adopt Program, and she is already loving having a fenced yard to run in and a home that is showering her with love and attention!
Think you may be interested in the Foster-to-Adopt program? First, to inquire about any Goldheart dog, you must be an approved adopter. During the approval process you can discuss the FTA program.
So, if you are not yet approved by Goldheart, and are in our SERVICE AREA, you will also need to complete an adoption application at http://www.goldheart.org/adopting-a-golden/adoption-application/.
